Kuluva Hospital manages its in-patient services from a designated Admission desk located on the first floor of the main building and Discharge desk located on the third floor of the main building. Patients are given guidance on the admission and discharge process, and are provided with an escort to take them to the admitting wards. Each room has an admissions pack which has information on key information points for your stay in the hospital.
Nursing
The Nursing Department is run by experienced staff drawn from Uganda and the East Africa region. The specialty areas such as Theater, Intensive Care, Dialysis, Maternity, Psychiatry are run by nurses with special training and expertise in these areas.
Nakasero Hospital provides nursing staff with frequent training to ensure quality service is delivered with professionalism and compassion. The Total Quality Control Management department runs programs to ensure consistent quality nursing care.

Intensive Care Unit
This facility has 4 beds and is run by critical care nurses as well as intensivists who are supported by respective specialists in their areas of specialization.
High Dependency Unit
This facility has 5 beds and is also run by critical care nurses as well as intensivists who are supported by respective specialists in their areas of specialization.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
This facility has 5 beds and is run by neonatal critical care nursed and supervised by a Neonatologist.
Admissions and Discharge
Admissions
Admissions are received at the Accident and Emergency department for initial assessment after which the admissions process commences on the first floor of the hospital in a designated area manned by friendly nursing staff and an admissions clerk who provide all the necessary information and escorts to the wards.
Discharges
Following discharge by the attending specialists, the nursing team together with the discharge clerks manages and guides clients through the process to ensure a smooth departure from the hospital.
Kuluva Hospital has a department of health education, whose staff ensure that discharged patients are well informed on leaving the hospital regarding the process undergone and instructions given. Following your discharge, our client experience team will make a follow up call to check on your progress to recovery and provide more information if required.
